Interesting poll on the value of a college education! I’m curious what 18/19 year olds are considering instead—trades or other alternative schools, or going into the workforce. I have seen more and more tech and other companies requiring “4 year degree or equivalent experience” on job apps, so a lot of jobs are opening up for those without college degrees who learned the skills other ways!

Totally—the rise of social media has created a range of new career paths that didn’t exist a decade ago. Social-adjacent roles (e.g. social media marketing, community management, content creation, and writing on this platform) have gained significant traction, often emphasizing transferable skills like creativity, project management and communication over traditional degrees. Many young people are realizing that hands-on experience and personal projects can be just as valuable as a four-year degree!
